Google Makes SEO Content Changes

As you may have noticed Google has become much more strict about its website rankings.  Spamming your way to the top with backlinks is no longer the number one option.  Producing high levels of content and correctly targeting keyword terms can get you much further than you once thought possible.  Providing visitors with rich content is Google’s goal, and their algorithm appears to be setup the same way.  Take a look as the pages on your website.  Are they targeting the right keyword phrase, are you talking about it in paragraphs?  Do you have the most information someone could want when clicking on a website after searching your target phrase?  Google wants to find it on your website, so make sure your giving it to them.   These content changes have to do with the amount of total content/text on your page and how well you refer to the target phrase in your content.

Ways you can tell if your doing a good job on your website pages is pretty simple.  Each page, especially the pages branching from your homepage should contain a Pagerank value of 0 or better after being cached by Google 3 times.  Providing the right amount of content and density on your pages can insure PR0 or better, and the rankings you desire.

On-site elements to help you achieve your goal:

  • Title Tag in relation to keyword phrase.
  • Meta Description in relation to keyword phrase.
  • H1 Header Tag in relation to keyword phrase.
  • Having the most well written content in relation to keyword phrase.

Properly setting this up on all of your pages has an amazing effect on all of your rankings, including your homepage.  In a way you can use your sub pages to power your homepage for its competitive terms.

Social Networking Techniques

You may hear alot about Social Networking.  My Space, Facebook, Twitter, etc.

We will talk about My Space in this post and some of the working techniques I have used.  As a stone cold beginner in SEO and Social Networking my first few months was spent by building a few myspace accounts the first week and giving them their each own unique theme and feel, as well as adding some of the common basics that other people in my market create on their page.  Things like embedded music or vides, pictures and quiz’s.

After that I asked myself….how can i get these accounts to have abunch of friends for my market.  I have heard small talk of a program that adds friends for multiple accounts before, so after some searching I found a program called Friend Blaster Pro  , I paid for i and set it up.  Bravo to this program for interacting with myspace as a brower and saving hours of manual page loads.  If you have money to invest, I would suggest having a personal app build for your myspace needs.  But for others it appears their are working affordable version.

Now if your asking yourself , whats the point of having 5,000 My Space friends that pertain to your market.  The answer to that is simple.  You want to be able to reach out to your market in any way possible, especially ones with minimum to no cost at all to produce.

A Marketing Tip:  I setup the programs “custom reply comment” when they accept my ADD FRIEND invite. With this you can advertise with anchor text or image links back to their home page comment section.

Make use of free hosting!

Having trouble finding high quality backlinks?  Ever consider a free hosting website or blog?  A few of those can make a positive dent in your rankings by writing quality content with a anchor text backlinks on these free sites and then a few minor backlinks will get them indexed.  Enjoy.

White & Black Hat Seo

What is “White Hat” seo?

White Hat is used to identify the tye of search engine optimization being done to a website.  There are two forms of SEO, White Hat and Black Hat.  I like to think of it as good and evil.  It has been known that Google will punish websites using Black Hat methods by removing them from their index, thus voiding any type of traffic derived from Google search.  White Hatters are followers of Google guidelines and try their best to rank high in search engines based on the rule set given to them by Google.  White Hat seo is a long term process with rewards of long term SERPs placement and high quality content provided to its viewers.

What is “Black Hat” seo?

Determining if your website is using Black Hat seo can be difficult, but it most cases if it’s Black hat then it was intentional.   If you are experienced in SEO you may have started coming up with your own unique ways of manipulating standing in the search engine rank position.  If you are using Black Hat seo methods or methods of your own making a risk is involved.  Google may decide that your methods are not in the best interest of Googles algorithm, rendering your site blacklisted.

Conclusion

If you consider using Black Hat / New SEO methods, then I would suggest doing it for testing purposes or for yourself since the last thing you want to do is put a clients website in danger.  If your developing for a client or customer, stick with White Hat all the way.  I will be posting new methods I discover as time goes on, and we can decide if its Black Hat or not.
